The Street Profits win the WWE Tag Team Titles - Smackdown Recap and Results 14/03/2025

WWE kicked off their European tour with Smackdown being in Barcelona, Spain. The crowd were extremely loud and postive throughout the show which included some great matches and a surprise title change.

LA Knight kicked off the show.

The crowd in Barcelona were electric all night and were buzzing for the "Megastar" LA Knight, who came out first to celebrate being a 2x United States Champion. Knight said the title was back where it should be before he was interrupted by Jimmy Uso. Uso wanted a shot at the title but Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline then cut him off. Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga jumped LA Knight and Jimmy Uso before Braun Strowman ran out to make the save and even the odds.

Braun Strowman, Jimmy Uso and LA Knight defeated Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga.

The crowd were buzzing as Jimmy Uso had a bright start to the match before being cut off by Solo Sikoa with a Spinning Urange slam. The Bloodline stayed in control before Uso got the hot tag to the United States Champion, LA Knight, who landed a jumping neckbreaker and a leaping elbow drop to Jacob Fatu. But Sikoa distracted the referee, giving Fatu enough time to take out Knight and get the upper hand.

The Bloodline remained in control until Knight hit Sikoa with a back suplex and finally tagged in the "Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman, who took out all three of his opponents with his signature Strowman Express on the outside. Uso and Knight both took out Fatu and Sikoa with dives to the outside before Strowman hit a Running Powerslam on Tama Tonga to get the win for his team.

After the match, Sikoa Samoan Spiked Strowman before Fatu hit the "Monster" with three moonsaults and a running hip attack through the barricade.

Jade Cargill Interview

An emotional Jade Cargill was interviewed by Cathy Kelly before the show started. Cargill was extremely upset that Naomi attacked her as she saw her as a big sister. The interview was interrupted by the Women's Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez who mocked Cargill and were angry they were blamed for attacking her. Cargill and Morgan will have a match next week.

Charlotte Flair defeated B-Fab.

The next match saw "The Queen" Charlotte Flair battle B-Fab in a first-time match-up. This was the first singles match for Flair since the 8th of December 2023 after recovering from her year-long knee injury. Flair dominated early with some signature chops before B-Fab slammed her down to the surprise of the Royal Rumble winner.

Charlotte Flair played up to the raucous crowd, giving them the middle finger whilst she dominated B-Fab in the ring. But, B-Fab fought back with multiple punches and a suplex, giving her some much-needed momentum, before a big kick got a two count out of Flair.

Just when we thought B-Fab had a chance at a huge upset, Charlotte Flair hit Natural Selection before locking in the Figure 8 submission hold for the tap-out victory.

Flair didn't let go of the hold after the bell, which brought out her opponent at Wrestlemania, Tiffany Stratton. The two brawled, with multiple security guards and producers attempting to break the two up. Stratton hit a Swanton Bomb dive clearing out numerous guards before being dragged away.

Miz TV with Cody Rhodes

An international version of The Miz's talk show, Miz TV, was up next with his guest, The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes. But before The Miz could start, Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair both appeared on the ramp and continued their brawl, including Stratton hitting another Swanton dive off the Videotron onto Flair and the security guards down below.

The Miz introduced Cody Rhodes by saying, unlike him, Rhodes would not beat John Cena in the main event of Wrestlemania. Rhodes came out with the crowd in Spain singing the lyrics to his theme song. Miz cut Cody's second "WOAH" off, so Rhodes hit him with a Cross Rhodes and called out John Cena again. He reminded the crowd both himself and Cena will be on Raw this upcoming Monday.

Damian Priest vs Shinsuke Nakamura ended in DQ.

After a backstage segment earlier in the day, Damian Priest wanted a fight, and General Manager Nick Aldis gave him one with the former United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. Priest overpowered Nakamura at the start of the contest, giving him a clothesline over the top rope to the outside.

Nakamura gained control, side-stepping Priest's running attack before hitting a big knee lift in the corner and a diving knee strike off the top rope. Priest fired back, catching Nakamura and giving him an Elevated Flatliner. "The Street King" gathered momentum with a Falcon Arrow and a huge shove to Nakamura, sending him over the announce table.

After pulling his straps down, Priest spotted Drew Mcintyre, who was stood next to the announce table. Priest countered Nakamura's Kinshasa attempt with a South of Heaven before McIntyre jumped in and caused the DQ. After a short brawl, Nakamura got back in the ring and hit a Kinshasa on Preist before McIntyre's attack ensued. Mcintyre hit Preist with the steel steps and hit a Claymore to lay him out.

Randy Orton defeated Carmelo Hayes.

"The Viper" Randy Orton was welcomed to the ring by the crowd singing his theme song "Voices" as he took on Carmelo Hayes. This was Orton's first singles match since October 8th, where he defeated "The Young OG" Je'Von Evans on NXT. Orton went for a handshake before the action got underway, but Hayes swerved him, causing Orton to unleash an uppercut before dropping him on the announce table twice.

Hayes gained the upper hand as he took out the left leg of Orton, halting "The Apex Predator's" attack. The comeback came when Orton hit some clotheslines and caught Hayes in a snap slam for a two-count. Hayes hit a springboard DDT for another two-count before attempting his finisher, Nothing but Net, but Orton climbed up the ropes and connected with a superplex.

"The Viper" ate a First 48 by Carmelo Hayes but hit an RKO from out of nowhere to pick up the victory. Orton went to shake Hayes' hand again after the bell, but after getting shoved away again, he hit a second RKO. Orton lined up the Punt Kick, but Kevin Owens pulled Hayes out of the ring before Randy chased "The Prizefighter" away.

Gunther defeated Axiom.

The World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, was out next and instantly got heat from the crowd in Barcelona by saying: Hala Madrid! The Champ wanted to prove a point by taking on NXT Tag Team Champion and Spanish-born superstar Axiom in a match.

The crowd were ecstatic for the main roster debut of Axiom as his agility was too much for Gunther in the early going as he kept countering "The Ring General's" heavy attacks before getting caught with a huge chop. Axiom attempted to fight back, but Gunther stayed in control with rest holds and another thunderous chop.

Axiom took flight with a huge dropkick off the top rope before a roll-up nearly upset Gunther. The Champion answered back with a dropkick and a powerbomb, but Axiom kicked out at two! The native star hurricanranaed Gunther off the top rope and connected with a superkick for a close near fall. Gunther countered a Rings of Saturn submission attempt into two powerbombs to defeat Axiom.

Gunther put Axiom in a sleeper hold after the match to send a message to Jey Uso before their showdown at Wrestlemania.

Paul Heyman In-Ring Promo

Paul Heyman recapped Monday's main event between CM Punk and Seth Rollins before announcing that the "OTC" Roman Reigns would be returning to Smackdown next week.

The Street Profits defeated DIY to become WWE Tag Team Champions.

The main event of the show saw DIY defend their WWE Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits in a long-overdue matchup. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford started the stronger of the two teams, with Ford flying around the ring, hitting a crossbody and a lariat on Johnny Gargano. DIY managed to turn the tides as Gargano sent Ford to the outside.

The champions isolated Ford with Tommaso Ciampa, giving him a big knee strike before Gargano carried on with the attack. Ford eventually got the hot tag to Dawkins, who made light work of the champions as he hit a spinning DDT on Ciampa for a near fall. The Profits came close to the win again as they connected with a big back suplex double team for a two-count. DIY also came close as they hit a Shatter Machine after countering Ford's 450 Splash attempt.

Dawkins sent Ciampa into the timekeeper area before the Street Profits hit an Elevated Blockbuster, but Ciampa saved the match, breaking up the pin at two. Dawkins missed with a Swanton Bomb before kicking out of a Superkick/Fairytale Ending double team. DIY went for their Meet in the Middle finisher, but Gargano accidentally superkicked Ciampa. Dawkins hit a powerbomb before Montez Ford connected with a Frogsplash. Ford covered Gargano, and the Street Profits became the new WWE Tag Team Champions!
